The Sankofa Homeschool Community is an intentional community for African, African-American and homeschoolers of color. Our mission is to create a community from which family and educational relationships will be built and resources will be shared.  Sankofa is homeschooling community of families who want to grow, learn, and build together.  Sankofa Homeschool Community is dedicated to creating a rich, supportive homeschool community through a combination of social outlets, enrichment programs, access to co-operative courses, and the sharing of academic resources.

 Coach Reita Johnston is a Trauma-Informed Life Coach, Educator, and Wellness Practitioner specializing in teaching cycle-breakers to let go of the things keeping them from their full potential.  Her work includes coaching from a whole-self approach, including emotional health, trauma healing, stress management, personal development, building resiliency, change, and life skills. Maleka Diggs

Eclectic Learning Network, led my Maleka Diggs, is a secular BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color-centered network dedicated to providing resources, trainings and workshops to families and learning spaces that shift ways towards learning as a lifestyle and partnership-based relationships through unschooling and self-directed learning approaches.




Jade Weatherington is a homeschool mom of one. She created an online series with her daughter to demonstrate how different black families home school and they are currently working on a series of books about siblings who are homeschooled.  This information can be found

Home School Legal Defense Associaton (HSLDA) is a non-profit advocacy organization that makes homeschooling possible by protecting homeschool freedom and equipping families to provide the best educational experience for their children.
